Design Finds a Sample Sale

Design Finds was an idea conceptualized and brought to life by the Chicago Modern Luxury Marketing Team. The first of its kind across all 18 Modern Luxury Markets, Design Finds was a luxury interiors sample sale featuring top showrooms selling their pieces at discounted prices in a three day weekend event at Artifact Events in Ravenswood.

Conceptualize It.

It all began with an idea. The Publisher and Editor-in-Chief had the idea of wanting to bring a sample sale hosted by Interiors Chicago to the community. Lead by the Marketing Director of Interiors I directly worked under her to conceptualize ideas to make Design Finds a reality. We wanted the weekend to have a charitable backbone. We worked with the River North Design District and Designs 4 Dignity an organization that transforms nonprofit environments through pro bono design services and in-kind donations. 

Brand It.

We worked with our graphic designers to create the look and feel for the event. The sales team then pitched our vision to advertisers and vendors and sure enough, 13 vendors bought into spaces to display their goods at Artifact Events. I began creating and posting social media elements all along the way. We ran our created advertisements in both CS and Interiors to create recognition amongst our readers.


Execute It.

We planned and kicked off the weekend with a VIP happy hour hosted by Heaven’s Door Whiskey, who’s workspace is located in the Artifact Events building. The evening then turned into the Issue Release party for the first issue of 2020. I worked diligently to correspond with clients, coordinate with our photographer and ensure intern event presence. The weekend generated nearly 400 visitors and raised nearly $5,000 for Designs for Dignity.
